Gareth, I don't know if the problem is with my tablet or Puzzlemix but, more often than not lately, when I first open a puzzle the screen freezes then resets itself. This means I keep finding myself in the second column. At first I thought it was an internet problem but it doesn't seem to happen with anything except puzzlemix. Any ideas?

Hi Penelope,
I think it must be the browser since I haven’t changed anything in many years. That said, it could be something in the Puzzlemix code that causes the browser bug, but because it could be anything at all it’s probably just about impossible for me to identify what. Are you on Android? Can you try another browser and see if that works?
I’m so sorry for the inconvenience, anyway!

I'm sure it's not your fault, Gareth! It only started a few days ago so maybe the browser updated itself. I'll try a different one. Penny

Hi Gareth, I changed my browser which solved that problem but now I can't see the lines between boxes! However, on my husband's tablet, using the same browser, you can see the lines so I think it's time for a new tablet. But thanks for your help and advice. Penelope

Hi Penelope,
If you can't see the lines it sounds like the browser is scaling the puzzle incorrectly - the way the HTML is set up it should always draw the borders.
I do want to create an app version of Puzzlemix to avoid these issues, but that won't be soon - and in the meantime I apologise that you're having such trouble getting it to work.

I would love some insight on how people solve this puzzle quickly.

Just started it again to look into it. I guess this might help: Check for impossibilites in center row and column. Then Look for a 9, for a 1 and for a 7 on the X.

Key
A yellow/light blue highlight in the time distribution charts highlights your time, where relevant.
Rating scores out of 10.0 show the average difficulty rating chosen by users, where 1.0 is "Easy" and 10.0 is "Hard".
If a puzzle is opened more than once, including by loading from a saved position, then this is potentially a significant aid so it is listed as being completed with 'multiple sessions' for the purpose of the best time/average rating displays above.
Minor aid is defined as no more than one use of 'Check solution' when incomplete and/or no more than one use of 'Check solution' when wrong; and/or using highlighting aids (show repeated digits, show broken inequalities and show valid/invalid placements [slitherlink] only). Major aid is any and all other use of the solving aids except for 'show wrong'.
