Once I had sorted out the possible factors of the larger numbers and where the 5s and 7s had to be it all fell into place which was very satisfying! And I'm just ahead of you carlotes which is an added bonus!:)

At the very beginning I missed to put a 5 in one box by accident. It wouldn't have mattered if that 5 wasn't the right number... when I finally ran into problems it was not possible to find this - other than to start again later. But still: under 7 minutes unaided? 5 minutes faster than the second?

I think that you are exaggerating a bit, Penelope. In any case... congratulations!!

Without giving too much away, here are some hints for solving it quickly: (a) Working out the factors of the larger numbers is a good way to start. (b) The product of all numbers in a cage must be 9!. (c) "Unaided" doesn't mean you can't use a calculator :)

That's how I do them, Pseudo. Just a lot more slowly than Carlotes or you!

Thanks, Pseudo. There is impressive the speed with which you solve the puzzles.

I think I'm cheating if I use a calculator, but very tempting!

Key

  • A yellow/light blue highlight in the time distribution charts highlights your time, where relevant.
  • Rating scores out of 10.0 show the average difficulty rating chosen by users, where 1.0 is "Easy" and 10.0 is "Hard".
  • If a puzzle is opened more than once, including by loading from a saved position, then this is potentially a significant aid so it is listed as being completed with 'multiple sessions' for the purpose of the best time/average rating displays above.
  • Minor aid is defined as no more than one use of 'Check solution' when incomplete and/or no more than one use of 'Check solution' when wrong; and/or using highlighting aids (show repeated digits, show broken inequalities and show valid/invalid placements [slitherlink] only). Major aid is any and all other use of the solving aids except for 'show wrong'.
