JoergWausW Daily subscriber Best completion time: 9:21 Time on first attempt: 19:05 Used 'show wrong moves' Used 'check puzzle' when incorrect
gareth, just in case you're still in "troubleshoot-mode":
This looks weird:
Completed 1 time Gave up 0 times Best time 19:05 Most recent start Today 7:33 Most recent completion Today 7:42 (9 minutes later, not 19)
I know what happened...: It told me "wrong" when I cecked a couple days ago. I didn't find the mistake, didn't have time, so I saved the game. Today I found the mistake and wanted to go back by undoing my steps to see where I went wrong. Wasn't possible - suggestion: would be nice if the history was saved as well. I reset the puzzle and started again from scratch. I guess the "best time" is the sum of what I needed before saving and what I spent today after starting (not after resetting).
Second suggestion is the first topic: start/completion times don't match the needed time. Can that be displayed somehow without resulting in confusion? (Most recent start from a saved game:..., or showing the original start time of the once saved game)
Thanks!
Jörg

Yes, your description is exactly right, and if you save the game and then continue then your time when saving is added on to your time when continuing. I suppose "Most recent start" should precisely say "Most recent time you opened the player window to either start the puzzle or possibly continue playing if you had a save file". With that proviso, the information should be correct. :)
I do take your basic point - it does look a bit confusing when you continue from a save. I think if I was creating this information today I would do it differently - it mostly evolved as I wrote the site many years ago rather than being specifically designed in any real way.

Key
A yellow/light blue highlight in the time distribution charts highlights your time, where relevant.
Rating scores out of 10.0 show the average difficulty rating chosen by users, where 1.0 is "Easy" and 10.0 is "Hard".
If a puzzle is opened more than once, including by loading from a saved position, then this is potentially a significant aid so it is listed as being completed with 'multiple sessions' for the purpose of the best time/average rating displays above.
Minor aid is defined as no more than one use of 'Check solution' when incomplete and/or no more than one use of 'Check solution' when wrong; and/or using highlighting aids (show repeated digits, show broken inequalities and show valid/invalid placements [slitherlink] only). Major aid is any and all other use of the solving aids except for 'show wrong'.
