gareth Administrator Daily subscriber Rated puzzle: Hard Completion time: 2:21 Used 'check puzzle' when incorrect
Hi stp8888,
Sorry about that. This should only happen if you have lost your internet connection, but in that case you should see that the second line of the completion dialog at the top of the player has a message saying it is waiting for the server - and if it fails to contact the server it will change to an error message telling you so.
I suppose now there's not a window popping open, it's a bit less obvious when your connection fails. There's currently no way of asking the player to 'try again', and I guess previously you could have hit 'reload' on the pop-up completion window (depending on your browser - some hid the reload button anyway) - but I had to get rid of that because it wasn't working at all on Apple devices (unless you reconfigured Safari in 'Settings'). I'm a bit wary of overcomplicating things, but I suppose I could add a time-out and a 'try again' option that appears at that point.

JoergWausW Daily subscriber Best completion time: 3:12 Time on first attempt: 3:21
I got confused from the (x) at the "show wrong" solving aid - is that new? Looks like a short cut now with the new (Q) close by. but it is supposed to tell you how wrong steps are marked...

stp8888, I've updated the player so it now informs you more clearly of the save-on-completion status, and gives you the chance to retry (click the red 'Retry' text) if it fails or takes too long.
JoergWausW, I haven't changed that, but you raise a good point. I've removed the brackets.

Key
A yellow/light blue highlight in the time distribution charts highlights your time, where relevant.
Rating scores out of 10.0 show the average difficulty rating chosen by users, where 1.0 is "Easy" and 10.0 is "Hard".
If a puzzle is opened more than once, including by loading from a saved position, then this is potentially a significant aid so it is listed as being completed with 'multiple sessions' for the purpose of the best time/average rating displays above.
Minor aid is defined as no more than one use of 'Check solution' when incomplete and/or no more than one use of 'Check solution' when wrong; and/or using highlighting aids (show repeated digits, show broken inequalities and show valid/invalid placements [slitherlink] only). Major aid is any and all other use of the solving aids except for 'show wrong'.
