There are at least two solutions to this . . . I haven't read other comments yet.

I did this puzzle, finished it - but then the server seemed to be down. All the other Internet worked, except puzzlemix. It seemed to be down erlier, too.

But I think - as always - there is only one solution. At least it looked pretty straight forward for me.

I've had difficulty today too, JoergWausW, in accessing the puzzlemix site several times and maddeningly just as I had finished the Jigsaw I couldn't get back to the main page and my solution was lost. A pity as one of my favourite puzzles:) (Can't really take the Nurikabe seriously!)

Elisabeth, you should try the Nurikabe puzzles. They are not that hard - and I guess you'd like them more than Slitherlinks.

Sorry about the connectivity issues - I haven't experienced this myself, and the site hasn't been down for everyone for any extended period at any point (I checked the logs to make sure), so whatever it is seems to be either intermittent or to affect certain users and not others. It might be something outside my control, but I'll try to work it out as fast as possible! Do please keep letting me know of any problems.

Robert, there is only one solution. You're probably missing a rule. They are:
* No 2x2 shaded areas
* All shaded squares connected
* One number per unshaded area, of its exact size
* Unshaded areas don't touch (except diagonally)

I had a go, JoergWausW, after your comment and surprisingly solved it, but I can't say I like them anymore than the Slitherlinks!!

Elisabeth, I was just guessing.
But you still sound like you had way less trouble with it than with the Slitherlinks.

I did think this had more than one solution so I had to check the rules, I'd forgotten the "shaded areas must be connected (not diagonal)" rule. I'm starting to like these.

Key

  • A yellow/light blue highlight in the time distribution charts highlights your time, where relevant.
  • Rating scores out of 10.0 show the average difficulty rating chosen by users, where 1.0 is "Easy" and 10.0 is "Hard".
  • If a puzzle is opened more than once, including by loading from a saved position, then this is potentially a significant aid so it is listed as being completed with 'multiple sessions' for the purpose of the best time/average rating displays above.
  • Minor aid is defined as no more than one use of 'Check solution' when incomplete and/or no more than one use of 'Check solution' when wrong; and/or using highlighting aids (show repeated digits, show broken inequalities and show valid/invalid placements [slitherlink] only). Major aid is any and all other use of the solving aids except for 'show wrong'.
