May be, if X is there, killer clues can be reduced.

No, vswarat, except I like to get as high up the chart as I can! As a retired mathematician I look for the neatest way to solve with as few moves as possible. If you leave out some of the killer clues the puzzle becomes a 'zero' type.

It is often possible to remove clues from the puzzles and still solve them, but it does make them harder. However, for the 'X' puzzles I do try to verify that it is necessary - but for the Killer 'X' there are so many potential deductions from the cages that it's much more frequently the case that you can get away without using them. But they will make it easier.

There was a Killer Sudoku once where two adjacent 3x3 areas were exactly covered by the killer clues, missing exactly one square. I added up all killer boxes, compared the sum with 90 and had my first number. There might be puzzles you have to do that to find the next step. But in most cases this would be just a different way than the intended one. The most difficult puzzles are those where you have only one possible logical step to go on. If that step was not obvious, you might spend quite a while findig it (there was an Odd Pair I got stuck at...)
Anyway, I'd like to bring up my previous question about the whereabouts of Hitori puzzles. Before last January there was obout one per week. Since then it is reduced by one per week. Not to mention (again) the current amount of occurences of Nurikabe puzzles...

Minor aid is defined as no more than one use of 'Check solution' when incomplete and/or no more than one use of 'Check solution' when wrong; and/or using highlighting aids (show repeated digits, show broken inequalities and show valid/invalid placements [slitherlink] only). Major aid is any and all other use of the solving aids except for 'show wrong'.
though I checked solution many times but I realized the error I was making and progressed.
I mean it could be solved comfortably by "killer" aspects, then x-part makes it very-very easy.
if someone finds x-part was very much required, please mention that area where we couldn't have progressed without that.
Fun suggestion: post it again some day after a month or so WITHOUT X-PART, and see how people perform only with killer part.
