I thought it was going to be easy but I had about 12 mistakes then 17 the second time round. I keep telling myself not to try these but every time I think to give it a go! I'm sure the system allows slitherlink to creep in more than it's fair share:)

I think you're right. There is still no Slitherlink Set, so I think those 200 puzzles from the unpublished sets are in rotation... (what other puzzle type is at no. 1485...?) Some (not me) might say: nobody would buy a Slitherlink set, because other stuff is better. So let's thin out the good stuff...
I kind of like the Slitherlink type. But I'm still amazed how fast people do these. I try it with logic only - but for this one I had to guess at one point because I got stuck (it started pretty easy). Or maybe a touch screen is just faster than my mouse...?

Just to address this, none of the puzzles in the sets are in the daily puzzles, and none of the daily puzzles are from the sets. There is zero overlap.
Also, none of the daily puzzles have ever been repeated (apart from a tiny number of hanjie).
The slitherlink count is high because the many sudoku variations each have their own counts, including by size. Slitherlink has just the one count, so looks artitifically high.
The quantities of slitherlink are set based on repeated requests previously to increase the number of slitherlink, and after years of changing the quantities there is now a mix that essentially no one asks to change, so I won't be changing the distribution again in the near future.
Slitherlink can be solved quickly by dragging across the page with the mouse button held down - don't try to click directly on the exact spot; that really is slow, yes.
I hope this clarifies!

When will the next puzzles be posted? It's half an hour after they normally go up. and yesterday's puzzles are still marked as "today"?

Puzzlemix runs on UK time. You're presumably in the US or somewhere where you have changed to summertime already. :) We don't do this until 31st March. So it will be an hour different until then for you.
Hope this explains things!

I'm sorry for probably not making my point... There is no Slitherlink set - so there can't be overlap. I tried to suggest: If there were sets, then there would be less Slitherlink puzzles in rotation. Hope this clarifies.
I still vote for the return of Nurikabe. And recently it feels like there are less Hitoris. Might be a random phenomenon, if the rotation is random based.
About overlap - I found one glitch a long time ago: Please compare Skyscraper Set 1 Puzzle 1 (#77572) with Skyscraper Set 2 Puzzle 1 (#21425).

Key
A yellow/light blue highlight in the time distribution charts highlights your time, where relevant.
Rating scores out of 10.0 show the average difficulty rating chosen by users, where 1.0 is "Easy" and 10.0 is "Hard".
If a puzzle is opened more than once, including by loading from a saved position, then this is potentially a significant aid so it is listed as being completed with 'multiple sessions' for the purpose of the best time/average rating displays above.
Minor aid is defined as no more than one use of 'Check solution' when incomplete and/or no more than one use of 'Check solution' when wrong; and/or using highlighting aids (show repeated digits, show broken inequalities and show valid/invalid placements [slitherlink] only). Major aid is any and all other use of the solving aids except for 'show wrong'.
Some (not me) might say: nobody would buy a Slitherlink set, because other stuff is better. So let's thin out the good stuff...
