The timing doesn't seem to work right if your net connection fails while you're solving. There should be some way to timestamp when you hit the Check solution button.

It's true that if you lose your internet connection you won't be able to register your puzzle completion. The puzzle player doesn't currently keep track of your time - only the server does. Originally I did this to minimise cheating, but I don't think this was actually necessary since you can cheat other ways if you want to anyway. I might alter the player to include the timer inside (or make it visible, optionally), which would allow you to wait for your connection to be restored as you suggest.
Currently time on the site is 'just for fun' - if I add rankings tables ever then this would be more of an issue I guess.

I enjoyed this one, there were several 'clues' to start on. Over the question of the time as long as I don't go off the right hand end of the chart I'm not bothered. As you say, Gareth, there are lots of ways to cheat and I am a bit sceptical of the very fast timings. It is not easy to click in a 9x9 puzzle under 2 minutes and then you have to think as well! I know I am past my 'best before' date but I can still achieve a reasonable time, mostly!

You can however view other players' statistics and their comments in the tables above.
