I've now fixed a long-standing issue with puzzlemix, which is that once your subscription (if you have one) expired you would need to email me to restore access to your previously unplayed puzzles. Instead of this happening automatically, a message appeared by default asking you to email me if renewing within 14 days - which was not ideal!
Starting from today, if you renew within 14 days then full access to all expired, unplayed puzzles will be given automatically. The cut-off date for this is shown in the (much shorter) message that now appears, as well as on the subscription page itself.
I've tested this and I think I have tried every possibility so believe it is working fine, but if you spot any problems to do with subscriptions (or puzzle availability when subscribed/not subscribed) then please let me know! It's the first time I've touched this code for many years.
There is also slightly more personalisation if you have previously had a subscription, where the site will remember this and give you prompts that do acknowledge this when you view the subscription page - although currently only for subscriptions active from today onwards (since it has no 'memory' of earlier ones). I also now keep a counter of how many years you have subscribed, although I am yet to import this data for previously expired subscriptions.
The site already knows how long you have been a user, as you can see on your user statistics page. (this link will only work if you are logged in)
Finally, I have also updated the related links in the left-hand side bar that appear across the site, and added a new restriction so that new users cannot comment before they have even played a puzzle.

that update is about one week too late for me to test it...

You can however view other players' statistics and comments in the tables above.
