So, the site is celebrating Slitherlink month, unannounced?

Seems the site is celebrating Slitherlink month, unannounced?

4 Slitherlinks continuously

previously also, Slitherlinks have been posted continuously.

Not intending to disappoint Slitherlink fans, still some variety would have been better.

Thanks.

Slitherlink fans can rejoice. They have gotten 132 Slitherlinks in the past year. Slightly over 2.5 per week.

Us Hanjie fans have gotten 17 over the past year. That's less than 1 every three weeks. So yes, some variety would be nice.

Yes, I like only puzzles with numbers, so I get disappointed when I visit the site again and again to find several that I don't play.

The ratio of slitherlink mirrors that historically requested, and they certainly do contain numbers. In fact, the numbers have more meaning than in sudoku where they are merely arbitrary symbols. There is in any case never more than one every two days (one out of eight puzzles), at the absolute maximum.

Hanjie, I can hardly defend, although I will at least point out there were 40 additional hanjie added for subscribers which gives a yearly total of 57.

To get a hint at why I haven't had much time to work on puzzlemix the past few years (although it does of course take time to maintain just to keep the regular puzzles going, and deal with occasional subscription issues), see https://www.drgarethmoore.com/latest-releases - and that page shows just a fraction of my new books for 2019 alone. I've been writing dozens a year the past few years, and it has taken much of my work time.

The Puzzlemix player was written in 2005 (for www.doKakuro.com - still active - although Puzzlemix itself launched in 2007) and it's a miracle it still works so well in modern browsers, apart from some browser pop-up warnings. And, when it was written, it was written to support much older browsers too, right back to Internet Explorer 5.1 (although I have since disabled this). It shows, I like to think, it was at least 10 years ahead of its time - but nonetheless the site needs converting into a phone app to be sustainable into the future. I have been expanding my puzzle business to try and add capacity for this, and I have made good steps this year in forward planning for extra capacity in my company, but it's still not something I can promise in the next 6 to 12 months. Once that is eventually done, however, the content will be brought fully up to date and significantly expanded.

The point I am making is that, although if you are a big hanjie fan you might think otherwise, I am still firmly committed to Puzzlemix and it will - at some point - be getting some love to prepare it for the next 15 years.

Thanks for giving 5th Slitherlink in a row today also. It is quite a relief to know that it is intentional depending on high requests for the same.

I think vsrawat is complaining because Slitherlink has appeared too often as the free puzzle, but, as I said before, vsrawat, if you want a better selection of puzzles you should become a daily subscriber!!
