I had to do a ridiculous amount of guess-and-check scenarios to finish this

I was able to solve it at first try, but it was tricky - at one point I had to find an X-Wing over 5 lines to continue (I think it was with digit 4 or 5). Later I tried the puzzle again and got stuck. So either I made an illogical move in the first try that turned out to be correct, or I failed to see a necessary and logical step during the second try.

Addition: I just tried it again (3rd time) and went through rather quickly - no 5-line-X-wing needed, but one or two 2-line X-wings. I only used logical steps. So I'm curious what I did right this time. I know there was one step I didn't do in my first two tries, so that's probably the crucial one. But I don't know anymore what it was - and Ctrl-Z still doesn't work after you checked a correct solution...
Feature request: Since the complete moves are stored by the script anyway (or Ctrl-Z wouldn't work) - isn't there a way you can rewatch what you did as a "movie"? Like a "replay your solution" button with a pause option. That way I could find the step I did...
Maybe I'll just play it again and try to be more careful... Ok, I did it.
Please ignore this Spoiler: I assume you alway find all only digits in lines, colums and areas.
First crucial: column8, row7 cannot be a 7. Then follows an X-Wing for digit 7: 4th and 8th column X-Wing digit 8: 8th and 9th row (then you'll have all 7 and all 8 set)
determine where the pink 4 has to be.
Crucial steps for digit 5: clean up digit 5 until you have an X-Wing in 6th and 9th column determine where the pink 5 has to be (exclude yellow and blue options for 5 by starting at the bottom)
after some more filling out the squares I needed another X-Wing with a choice between digit 6 and digit 2 (or both).

Key
A yellow/light blue highlight in the time distribution charts highlights your time, where relevant.
Rating scores out of 10.0 show the average difficulty rating chosen by users, where 1.0 is "Easy" and 10.0 is "Hard".
If a puzzle is opened more than once, including by loading from a saved position, then this is potentially a significant aid so it is listed as being completed with 'multiple sessions' for the purpose of the best time/average rating displays above.
Minor aid is defined as no more than one use of 'Check solution' when incomplete and/or no more than one use of 'Check solution' when wrong; and/or using highlighting aids (show repeated digits, show broken inequalities and show valid/invalid placements [slitherlink] only). Major aid is any and all other use of the solving aids except for 'show wrong'.
So either I made an illogical move in the first try that turned out to be correct, or I failed to see a necessary and logical step during the second try.
