After a very long break (of years!) I've now added Toroidal (ie with this fixed wraparound pattern) back into the mix.

There's a toroidal set in the legacy puzzle sets area, Elizabeth, but only people who've been using the site for a long time (and purchased a set a long time ago) have access to that area, so that's an excellent idea - thank you!

Elizabeth, I added the ability for anyone to comment on the daily puzzles a year or two ago, when there were some good discussions on the daily pages and I felt it was important that everyone could contribute! :) So I think every user should be able to comment on the daily puzzles

In fact, why don't I just move the legacy sets into the main sets area... Not sure why I haven't done this before!

Thank you Gareth, I can still chat if I want; the problem with the legacy puzzles is I did theToroidal ones and others way back then.... so what happens to the earlier results?? (Just checked I was doing the legacy sets back in April 2012!!) And just noticed the Wraparound Vol.2, thank you.

Only 5 seconds between you, P and c:)

I guess it would be less confusing just to add new sets, rather than move old ones across. I've been working on a new Toroidal set anyway, since I restored posting Toroidal (fixed pattern) puzzles, so that should appear on the site very shortly (in the next hour or so).

Thank you, gareth, that's quick:) and solves my problem of having done most of the legacy puzzles earlier.

I didn't know that "toroidal" had a fixed pattern, I though it was just an act of renaming. If it has different names, maybe different icons make sense? I'd like to see an do(ugh)nut with squares on it ;-)

Another suggestion: 10x10 toroidals - pattern could be repeatedly like this (I hope you get what I mean):
*...
*...
*...
****
...*
...*
...*

(Remove three stars and you'll get a 7x7...)

Key

  • A yellow/light blue highlight in the time distribution charts highlights your time, where relevant.
  • Rating scores out of 10.0 show the average difficulty rating chosen by users, where 1.0 is "Easy" and 10.0 is "Hard".
  • If a puzzle is opened more than once, including by loading from a saved position, then this is potentially a significant aid so it is listed as being completed with 'multiple sessions' for the purpose of the best time/average rating displays above.
  • Minor aid is defined as no more than one use of 'Check solution' when incomplete and/or no more than one use of 'Check solution' when wrong; and/or using highlighting aids (show repeated digits, show broken inequalities and show valid/invalid placements [slitherlink] only). Major aid is any and all other use of the solving aids except for 'show wrong'.
