Penelope Daily subscriber Rated puzzle: Easy Completion time: 18:39 Used 'check puzzle' when incorrect
I'd nearly finished this and somehow lost it. Does anyone know how to get back to a puzzle in no these circumstances. I just keep getting a message that I've already got it open but it just comes up empty.

Once I double clicked a link and two windows were opened. I didn't notice and solved one without aid. My result was listed in the right column, because I used more than one session - probably a related phenomenon. When you start a puzzle, the list shows a green arrow icon, and the list-window starts waiting for the response from the opened puzzle-window about what you did with it (solved, with/without aid, gave up, saved ...). Problem: If you close your puzzle-window the unintended way, using the "x" in the top corner of the window, the list-window doesn't get any response at all. The green icon remains - and I think there is a time-out eventually that makes it go away again. But when I open a puzzle again (e.g new window), it always shows up empty (see my double click-example). How should a new window know about another window that never responded back to anything (because it got lost by closing it...) So I think your previous effords remain lost.
I hope this makes any sense to anyone.
And: I never got a message about another open window. But again: I'm not a daily subscriber... (I ended up here looking for if there was a more recent continuation of the discussion about puzzle rating from May16th...)

Thank you Joerg. What you say makes sense but I didn't close the puzzle, just opened a new window then couldn' t find it again. Oh well, it's irritating but not the end of the world.

if your window just vanished, it must be a problem of your device/computer, not a problem of the puzzlemix webpage... unless the second opened window appeared in the same window as the first one.

Key
A yellow/light blue highlight in the time distribution charts highlights your time, where relevant.
Rating scores out of 10.0 show the average difficulty rating chosen by users, where 1.0 is "Easy" and 10.0 is "Hard".
If a puzzle is opened more than once, including by loading from a saved position, then this is potentially a significant aid so it is listed as being completed with 'multiple sessions' for the purpose of the best time/average rating displays above.
Minor aid is defined as no more than one use of 'Check solution' when incomplete and/or no more than one use of 'Check solution' when wrong; and/or using highlighting aids (show repeated digits, show broken inequalities and show valid/invalid placements [slitherlink] only). Major aid is any and all other use of the solving aids except for 'show wrong'.
