Great puzzle. Just enough thinking required to be challenging.

Why have you rated it easy, if it's challenging?

I agree, kocos. I think some people don't like to admit they find a puzzle 'moderate' let alone 'hard'. It doesn't help those that have some difficulty who must feel clueless when they aren't really. I'm not referring to those who use aids as the situation is quite different, but those who try to solve on their own.

I think if you have to use aids to complete a puzzle you can't classify it as easy.

Penelope I'm not totally agree with you. When I started with "puzzlemix" I solved them "with aids", not "show wrong", and could perfectly classify as "easy", "moderate" or "hard". Another issue is when "show wrong" is used ...

Sorry Carlotes. I suppose I mean "show wrong" rather than other aids.

Penelope, I totally agree with you now!

Show wrong seems to be the one aid that makes a puzzle almost too easy, I use it only when frustrated in order to get the puzzle finished as quickly as possible:) Although I've had fun with the others, particularly in 12x12s using all possibles plus auto remove the numbers pop up for you. But I agree with kocos' original comment, as I think people seem to like to pretend they have found a puzzle easy when it obviously wasn't!

Yes, of course, the Kocos' original comment is entirely logical.

For me, unless the next logical step takes me over a couple of minutes to spot, I tend to rate puzzles easy. I think I've only ever rated two or three puzzles hard in the 2-3 years I've been here. However, I also tend to regularly be high up the rankings when I do check, so perhaps I'm not the best measure of how easy or not a puzzle actually is :/

Glad to have a response from you LilSquiggle, as you are one of those who obviously has a flair with numbers, but you have rated this puzzle 'moderate', so we can take some comfort from that! (What does :/ mean please? I know I'm behind the times) Sometimes I examine the thought processes required in a particular puzzle, based on my past experience of assessing problems in Maths (facility with numbers not necessarily the same) in order to grade them in difficulty and this influences my rating. Nowadays I'm not so quick as I used to be and Arithmetic was my least favourite of the mathematical disciplines:)

Oh :/ is a little not sure face. Would it make more sense if I typed it as :-/ ? (I'm lazy and never put the noses on smileys)
I generally find with a lot of puzzles where Im a bit slower than I sometimes might be, but that I have rated easy, its because it was only one logic step that I missed and it was simply because I spent too long looking in the wrong place for it. As such I know that if I had looked in the right place to start with, I would have finished much faster.
Basically, my ratings generally aren't based on how long it took me, but how complicated/convoluse the next logical step was in the puzzle. This is why nurikabes are often the puzzles I rate as hardest because despite understanding the logic of how to work them out, I often really struggle to find the next step.

Key
A yellow/light blue highlight in the time distribution charts highlights your time, where relevant.
Rating scores out of 10.0 show the average difficulty rating chosen by users, where 1.0 is "Easy" and 10.0 is "Hard".
If a puzzle is opened more than once, including by loading from a saved position, then this is potentially a significant aid so it is listed as being completed with 'multiple sessions' for the purpose of the best time/average rating displays above.
Minor aid is defined as no more than one use of 'Check solution' when incomplete and/or no more than one use of 'Check solution' when wrong; and/or using highlighting aids (show repeated digits, show broken inequalities and show valid/invalid placements [slitherlink] only). Major aid is any and all other use of the solving aids except for 'show wrong'.
